Anew is a member driven, upcycling food organization. We're building anew kind of food system for anew kind of world. Instead of letting mass donations of food go to waste, we work with local food and drink artisans to repurpose ingredients to create a new marketable product.
Key Benefits

By using rescued ingredients, you will reduce your cost when creating a new product. We’re here to support you through creative collaborations that eliminate the need to grow and transport fresh raw materials to create food products as well as the the associated water used and pollutants produced alongside these processes.

Anew colloborations help promote food waste awareness and creativity in our community by implementing innovative, sustainable solutions to everyday food waste problems!

Upcycling is an important benefit for our environment; it reduces food waste and greenhouse gases, while also reducing our need to grow and transport new ingredients. Food production uses a lot of water and produces harmful pollutants that can be reduced by upcycling ingredients we already have.

Modern consumers relate with businesses who share their values; through upcycling, we can connect with our local communities through our mutual care for sustainability. Businesses that value sustainability can see growth in their consumer market, consumer loyalty and revenue.

Do customers care about upcycled products?

It turns out that more than half of consumers feel that their individual choices can change the world – 88 per cent of us are already choosing brands with more ethical practices.

At Anew, we recognize that ethical responsibility shouldn’t be left to the consumer alone. We help create products that contribute to the environment and our communities in a positive way by reducing environmental impact and connecting people. Brands like Anew are instrumental in the food waste revolution – we’re helping to build a more sustainable future.

Sometimes, food waste is unavoidable; items such as banana peels, corn husks, bones, eggshells and coffee grounds may be unusable, but far more edible food goes to waste. In Canada alone, 11.2 million tonnes of edible food is thrown out each year; at least 32 per cent of this food waste is avoidable.

Creating products with upcycled ingredients actively reduces this waste each year and puts food into the hands of local customers in support of the benefits of upcycling.
